Known shipper is a shipper status given by the TSA (Transportation Security Administration). A shipper must be a known shipper in order to load cargo on a passenger aircraft from the US.
An exporter uses the Shipper's Letter of Instruction to convey transportation and documentation instructions to his or her agent, usually an international freight forwarder.
The term cargo readiness is linked to international trade and to a specific date when the shipper (also known as vendor, manufacturer, seller or exporter) has the cargo ready for handover to a transportation provider.
Shipping order is a copy of the shipper's instruction issued by the shipping company to a shipper regarding the disposition of goods to be transported.
The Automated Export System (AES) is the system used by U.S. exporters to electronically declare their international exports, known as Electronic ExportInformation (EEI), to the Census Bureau to help compile U.S. export and trade statistics.
